Music Camp will take place on August 5-9 from 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM each day and will be open to 4-year-old kids through graduated 8th graders.
Our theme for this year is “Out of This World”. We will start our time together each evening with large group singing and dancing and then end the evening back together for a short devotional time and reflection. In between, campers will have the opportunity to experience various instructional rotations in orff, drums, and chimes/bells, and have a quick snack. They will also participate in a discovery rotation where special guests will share with them various types of music/musical instruments.
Our youngest campers are in an “inclusive class,” and do not rotate the same way (although they do have a chance to go to the discovery rotation). Their class involves bells and boomwhackers, percussion, singing, crafts, puppets, snacks, and more.
The week will end with a performance and celebration at 7PM in our church sanctuary followed by a reception in our dining room. Music campers are also invited to join us on Sunday, August 11th for Music Camp Sunday, where they will be leading the special music in worship at 10AM.
The cost will be $10 per participant or $30 per family unit, which includes an awesome t-shirt for each camper. Scholarships are available upon request to the church office. All levels of music experience are welcome.
