Expressions Of Lent

Expressions of lent

So God created humankind in his image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27

Made in the image of God. What does that mean? One way to understand it is that God, the creator, put creativity into each one of us… That’s right, if you are a child of God, then you are creative. Whether you know it or not.

This Lent – join your sisters and brothers in Christ as we use our God-given creativity to create “Expressions of Lent.”

This Lenten journey will begin with an Ash Wednesday service, on February 26,
where we explore what it means to be creative and receive ashes as a reminder of our need for God.

In the following weeks, we will gather around a scripture text with a brief lesson provided by Pastor Todd and then be given space to create.

BYOS – Bring Your Own Supplies – what do you like to create? What have you always wanted to try? Bring your own painting materials, yarn, fabric, journal, scrapbook, craft materials, camera, markers, crayons, clay, or whatever else you can think of that will spark your creativity. Some supplies and guided projects will be provided for those who need a little more inspiration to get started.

These events are for EVERYONE; young or old, strong in faith or struggling with doubt, professional artist or first-time creator. Come and express yourself as we walk through lent together.

Gatherings will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the Church Dining Room.
